Company-wide Policy
To ensure nuclear safety, we implement criticality safety controls, radiation exposure controls, environmental monitoring, and many more control measures.
We address "Nuclear Safety", "Environmental Safety",
and "Occupational Safety and Health"
as the highest priority of our business.
In order to address “Nuclear Safety”, “Environmental Safety”, and “Occupational Safety and Health” as the highest priority of our business, we continuously strive to make improvement in these areas based on the “Environment/Safety Standards”, “Nuclear Safety Policy”,and “Facility Management Policy”established by our president.
For nuclear safety, we implement criticality safety controls, radiation exposure controls, and gaseous (effluent), liquid (effluent), and solid waste controls in handling nuclear fuel materials (uranium).
Additionally, to maintain and improve the nuclear safety, we created the quality management system in 2004 and operate the system at both Kumatori Works and Tokai Works.
For protection of the environment both inside and outside of our facilities and for safety and health of local residents, we created the environmental safety management system and engage in waste management (gaseous and liquid releases), energy conservation, resource saving and other activities according to the environmental safety management system.
Kumatori Works obtained ISO14001 certificate in 1999 and returned it in 2013.
Tokai Works obtained ISO14001 certificate in 2001 and returned it in 2017.
After returning the certificate, we have been implementing the environmental conservation activities by maintaining the environmental management system.
For protection of employee’s safety and health, we established a management system and evaluate the risks to continuously improve the working environment in the Works according to the management system.
Kumatori Works obtained the certification of Occupational Safety & Health Management System from Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association.
Tokai Works obtained the certification of Occupational Safety and Health Management System from the High Pressure Gas Safety Institue of Japan in 2004 and returned it in 2020.
After returning Tokai Works has been implementing the occupational safety and health management activities by maintaining the Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
