Fulfilling Our Role in Advancing Japan’s Nuclear Industry

Since our founding in 1972, we have pursued business development based on our corporate philosophy: “to uphold respect for human dignity, to engage in creative and disciplined business practices, and to contribute to society through the advancement of the nuclear industry”. As the only domestic nuclear fuel fabricator in Japan capable of supplying fuel for both boiling water reactors (BWR) and pressurized water reactors (PWR), we have consistently delivered high-quality nuclear fuel with an excellent safety record through our advanced technologies.”

In addition, we have expanded our business portfolio to include engineering services related to mixed oxide (MOX) fuel fabrication; the development and manufacturing of various types of fuel, including fuels for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors; as well as the supply and maintenance of fuel-related systems and equipment based on our expertise in core management technologies and safety design. Furthermore, we have engaged in non-destructive inspection and diagnostic services. Through these initiatives, we have grown into a key contributor to Japan’s nuclear industry.

Today, momentum toward a decarbonized society is accelerating. Nuclear power generation, characterized by low operating costs, zero greenhouse gas emissions during operation, and a high level of supply stability, is regarded as a key source of decarbonized power. In this context, we believe that our role will become increasingly important.”

In 2025, we revised our long-term business strategy, “Vision 2040.” In this renewed vision, we have defined two strategic pillars: evolving from “a company that manufactures nuclear fuel” to “a company that supports the nuclear fuel cycle,” and becoming a company that creates new value centered on nuclear fuel. By placing our greatest assets, our people, and our technology, at the core of our efforts, we aim to build an organization that continually pursues growth and transformation.
