History of Tokai Works

1965 Fuel fabrication facilities are built at Takeyama Research Laboratory. (The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd.)
1977/Dec. Site preparation work started for Tokai Manufacturer (currently Tokai Works)
1980/Jan. BWR fuel fabrication business started at Tokai Manufacturer (currently Tokai Works)
1993/Mar. New plant for high temperature gas-cooled reactor fuel was built
1998/Sep. BWR fuel business division obtained ISO9001 certification for quality
2001/Nov. Tokai Works obtained ISO14001 certification for environment
2004/Feb. Tokai Works obtained OHSAS18001 certification for occupational safety and health

Delivery record

BWR fuel for light water reactor: 16,803 assemblies (as of end of March 2010)

HTR fuel: 300 assemblies (as of end of March 2010)

ATR fuel: 687 assemblies (production ended in fiscal year 1999)

Operational plans for disaster prevention for nuclear power operator

As reguired by the law and Per our own initiative to be prepared in the event of a nuclear disaster, we drafted the Disaster Prevention for Atomic Energy Companies document, which we review and modify annually.
