Nuclear Safety Policy

Ensuring safety is a social obligation of Nuclear Fuel Industries, Ltd., and based on our safety culture as Safety 1st . We prioritize safety in everything we do, and understand and follow our Nuclear Safety Policy.

Basic Policies

  1. Ensuring safety is our top priority in everything we do.
  2. We comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and internal rules, and deliver commitments we have with local communities and ensure safe operations.
  3. We strive for continual improvement in our safety management system to achieve higher nuclear safety standards.
  4. We ensure that we communicate well so that everyone at the company is well aware of our nuclear safety initiatives.

Priority Policies

  1. We regularly implement thorough preventive maintenance to avoid undesirable incidents caused by aging of our equipments and facilities from happening.
  2. We continually take necessary and effective countermeasures for seismic and fire hazard.
  3. We rigorously follow procedures when handling nuclear fuel materials, and thoroughly implement safety measures necessary to prevent dispersion or leakage of such materials.

Safety Culture Development Policy

Safety has always been our top priority at Nuclear Fuel Industries, Ltd. since its foundation. To further promote this guiding principle, the company has established a safety culture development policy as described below to ensure that we all live the principle of “Safety 1st”.

Safety 1st is a guiding principle shared by everyone at Nuclear Fuel Industries, Ltd. We take pride in our safety culture development policy and are committed to act upon it.

 

  1. We foster communication with each other. When unusual and/or undesirable conditions of our equipments and facilities come to our attention, we immediately report and consult appropriate personnel in the organization.
  2. We always ask ourselves what needs to be done to ensure safety, exclude faulty judgment and make proper decisions to ensure safety.
  3. We acknowledge our roles and responsibilities and carry out our duties required to ensure safety. At the same time, we strive for continual improvement as we learn lessons from internal and external incidents in order to prevent our safety culture from getting inferior.
  4. As a responsible community citizen, we accept our corporate accountability. In the event of safety-related incidents, we actively notify concerned parties both inside and outside of the company and promote affirmative disclosure.
